the countdown begins

Here are a couple of my favourite ornaments

This one pretty well says it all -

This has been my favourite since I can remember -

The village I started for my son....he loves it!

I love these apothecary jars from Costco - tried to get them last year but they sold out....didn't make the same mistake of waiting when I saw them this year!

Our dining room tree - a fun, Martha Stewart tree that has to be set up branch by branch -- but isn't it pretty?

And I think this pretty well sums it up for me! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!

'Tis the season!

I LOVE CHRISTMAS! I do go a little over the top, but if not now, then when???

This is our mantel -- I found this sign in a great little shop in Halls, Tennessee, we went there last year for Christmas to visit my parents. If you are in the area, you HAVE to visit Charlene's it's a wonderful network of shops that you will love, I guarantee!

This is our family room tree -- skinny in order to fit into the room that is jammed with our Christmas village and collection of Santa's.....when is it too much? At Christmas time, I say never!

This is our hall tree -- Thank you to Canadian Tire for having all your ornaments on sale at the right time this year....for you Canadian readers, don't you find that Canadian Tire has a great collection of Christmas stuff? It seems to get better every year! We did this tree in gold and copper, and I LOVE the effect!

This is my favourite tree -- in the front room, where I spend my time when I sit to catch up on my favourite shows, knit or crochet (I'm teaching myself, and becoming addicted!) This tree is one of those flocked trees (found it at Rona) and I did it in all silver, white and glitter....I just love it....it's the nicest tree we have I'm sure!

That's it for today, will post somemore tomorrow!

I'm selling on Etsy

It's been awhile, I thoroughly enjoyed our summer holidays, and have been working hard to get my son in to grade 1 (he has some special needs, and is only going 1/2 days right now) so all my time seems to have been focused on that. Well, he's enjoying school, things are going pretty well, and it's time for me to put some focus back into my jewelry business. So, I've decided to start selling on Etsy, a wonderful online tool for crafty people like me to sell their wares. If you get a chance, check it out at www.limefreckle.etsy.com

Post Secret

It's summer, I'm in full summer mode, sleeping in, lazing around in the morning with no particular place to go, kind of reminds me of summer holidays when I was a child! I can remember when I was single and childless, hearing women talk about the year, and how holidays and so forth were defined by the school year - and I used to think "wow, what a drag, to have to follow that schedule still as an adult!" But now that I have a school age son of my own, I'm enjoying getting back on that schedule....although I anticipate September in a much different way now, than I did as a kid! But we are most definitely enjoying our summer holidays! It gives me lots of time to surf, and come across sites like this http://postsecret.blogspot.com/

People send in handmade postcards with their deepest secrets --- every Sunday new postcards are up - check it out, some so sad, some make you laugh....all make me think.....

FLOWER POWER!

Summer is in full bloom here, and I'm celebrating with my latest creations. These stunning pendants can be found here on my website, and are made with a variety of materials, including swarovski pearls, firepolished crystals, semiprecious stones and glass briolettes. They pendants measure 1 1/2" or 2" each, and can be purchased strung on sterling silver chain ($60 Cdn funds), Silver plated chain ($45 Cdn funds), or silk cord ($40 Cdn funds). These are a ton of fun to make, and really draw a crowd!

Why not host a Limefreckle jewelry party?

If you live in the GTA area (Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon) and would like more information on hosting your own Limefreckle originals jewelry party email me for more information. I will come to your house and set up everything like you see here, you supply the friends, and we have a nice, relaxed time viewing jewelry, visiting etc. There is no sales pitch, no presentation, just a relaxed atmosphere to try on jewelry and have a ladies night out. I offer the hostess 20% of the total party sales towards your purchase of jewelry, as well as other goodies.

Where was this when I was a child?

When I was a kid, waaaaay back in the 70's, we had a good old sprinkler to keep us cool on a hot summer day. Not one of those fancy, spray willy nilly kind of things, but a metal sprinkler, that shot out freezing cold water, back and forth, back and forth, and really, REALLY hurt if you caught your foot on it (which I did a lot, because I was very clumsy as a child). But of course, we loved it, and never even dreamed that such a thing as this slide, that my son makes me drag out every day for him, existed! Boy, kids today are spoiled! This baby squirts out water from the top, and has not one but 2 slides, so that other little boys that stand on their deck next door and look over longingly can join in the fun. The water puddles up at the bottom of the slide to create a freezing cold little pond, but the kids don't seem to care! Ah......good times!

(did I mention that when I turned 8 or so we had a pool? I guess I was a little spoiled too, after all...)

OK, here's a couple of sparklies to get us started. These were added to my website a little while ago, this one is 14k goldfill, swarovski carribean blue facetted rounds, turquoise rounds, swarovski black jet cubes, synthetic chalcedony, and jet ab firepolished and black diamond rounds. Earrings can be found here

and here is the matching bracelet:

There's nothing I like more than these cha-cha bracelets, they are sparkly, and dangly and jingle on your wrist.

I'm a Blogger!

I've been wanting to try my hand at blogging for some time now, because let's face it, I'm at the computer every morning anyway, reading other people's blogs, so why wouldn't everyone be just as fascinated with what I have to say? Anyway, here it is, for what it is worth. I'm hoping to keep this up to date with my latest rants, raves, sparkly creations, new discoveries, etc. I hope you will come back often and tell your friends!

I've been busy lately creating new jewelry and having a great time. As I add things to my website I will be sure to let you all know. I've been really itching to get into the basement and have some fun with mosaics again -- for those of you that haven't seen my creations, I love to play around with all sorts of mixed media, china, stained glass, gems, whatever I think can be glued down and grouted. I mostly like to make mirrors, again, sparkly things seem to amuse me! I would like to get some new stock and add it to my website, but lately I just haven't had the time to get downstairs and work.
Once I figure out how to add pictures here, there will be no stopping me! In the meantime, thanks for reading!
